Guinness Six Nations tribute sets the scene for epic battles ahead

SportsJOE

Rivals for 80 minutes, friends forever.

The 2020 Guinness Six Nations is upon us. Great deeds await, rivalries will be renewed and friendships, old and new, forged stronger still be a collective passion.

2019 brought us ‘The Purse’ – an evocative story of Welsh brothers Gareth and David Rees and a love of rugby they inherited for their late mother, Olive.

When Olive passed away, she left her inheritance to Gareth and David under the strict condition that they used the money to follow the Welsh rugby side play the game that she loved. It was one of the finest of Guinness’ excellent ‘Made of More’ series and the 2020 entry carries the torch in fine style.

Voiced by Irish actor Andrew Scott, ‘The Guinness Six Nations – A Love Letter’ brings to life the fierce competitiveness that characterises the championship along with the deep friendships and loyalties it evokes.

The call to arms for the 2020 Guinness Six Nations is ‘come as rivals, leave as friends’ and this video certainly captures that spirit:
