Irish rugby supporters hoping to follow the women’s team and their World Cup journey on TV have been given a boost.
Eir Sport has announced it will sub-licence all of Ireland’s games and the Women’s World Cup final to RTÉ ‘on a non-exclusive basis’.
This means both Irish broadcasters will show all of Ireland’s games and the final, which will be held at Kingspan Stadium on August 26.
The deal will see Ireland’s pool games against Australia, Japan and France all shown line on free-to-air TV as well as on eir Sport, who have exclusive Irish rights to all 30 games.
Managing director of eir Sport, Glen Killane says the agreement was made on a non-exclusive basis ‘so as to make more games available to Irish Sports fans’.

Ireland reached the semi-finals of the 2013 tournament having beaten 2009 world champions New Zealand and topped their pool on the way.
Tom Tierney’s side are currently competing in the Six Nations and started this season’s championship with a last-ditch victory over Scotland. They take on Italy this weekend.
