An enterprising Hurricanes fan has decided to have some fun with the fact that he missed out on tickets for Saturday’s Super Rugby final against the Highlanders by auctioning off seats on his couch to watch the game.
For the bargain price of $1,000 (€600), you have the choice of a pair of either Platinum or Silver tickets to watch the match on seller kent_barnz’s ‘modest 40-inch Panasonic’. He’ll also throw in a few home brews (on the house as he doesn’t have a licence).
There are a couple of potential drawbacks, however. He doesn’t have Sky so you’ll be watching the game on delay, while if you don’t like cats you’ll be better off with the Silver package on the other side of the room.
Oh, and you’ll need to avoid annoying the wife or waking the kids.
The auction also sparked some fabulous back-and-forth between the seller and potential buyers.
