What a great bunch of lads.
In times of crisis, you know the Fijian rugby team will have your back.
The squad were on-board a Virgin Australia flight from Nadi, in Fiji, to Brisbane on Thursday – en route to the Dubai Sevens – when an elderly female passenger fell ill.
The pilot made a call for medical assistance and both Fiji’s team doctor and coach stepped up. Flight attendants assisted the pair as the passenger was quite stricken.
That left the remaining passengers short of in-flight service. Not an issue as the Fijian players raised a collective hand and pitched in.
The players went from row to row on the trolley service, offering food and drink, and then helped with the cleaning of trays and clearing up.
According to fellow passenger Ryan Fee, one player even assisted with the treatment of the elderly woman by holding an oxygen mask over her face for over an hour.
