Now we know the foe we’ll face.
Stuart Lancaster has kept his changes to a minimum as he seeks to stretch England’s winning run over Ireland to five matches.
The English coach has made two alterations – one forced, the other a form selection – from the starting fifteen that disposed of Italy in Six Nations round two.
Harlequins fullback Mike Brown is continuing his graduated return to play following a bad case of concussion, two weeks ago. Alex Goode of Saracens comes straight into the No.15 jersey.
The other tweak sees Exeter’s Jack Nowell replace Jonny May on the left wing. Henry Thomas replaces injured Newcastle prop Kieran Brookes on the bench.
Ireland v England will take place at 3pm on Sunday, at the Aviva Stadium. The two sides hold the only remaining unbeaten records in this year’s championship.
