Donnacha Ryan and Simon Zebo both score as Racing 92 hammer Agen

The Munster men are off to a great start.

Simon Zebo and Donnacha Ryan both scored for racing 92 as they racked up a half century of points against a hapless Agen side.

Ryan and Zebo have been hard at it since early August and are well up to speed in the Top 14. Having lost at home to table-topping Clermont, last week, Racing got back on track by savaging the newly promoted Agen, 59-7.

Virimi Vakatawa scored Racing’s opener and Ryan called the ball on himself after Finn Russell’s offload to Teddy Iribaren opened the hosts up.

Nicolas Metge responded with a try for Agen but that was as good as it ever got. Vakawata and Louis Dupichot were soon dotting down and Racing were 49-7 up by half-time.

With the game all but over, both sides made steady use of their respective benches. Zebo replaced Teddy Thomas after 45 minutes and looked lively but had to wait until the closing stages to get his second try of the season.

Again it was Vakawata doing the damage and, hearing Zebo on his inside, his smart pass gave the Ireland international the simple task of dotting down.

Clermont took over top spot after they beat Paul O’Connell’s Stade Francais 42-20 at Stade Marcel Michelin. George Moala got a double and Wesley Fofana was also on the score-sheet for Clermont, who look in good shape this season.

Paddy Jackson kicked 11 points for Perpignan but they lost their third game in a row, falling short 22-16 this time out against Lyon.
