David Pocock reportedly offered big money move to France

Another Aussie headed abroad

It’s looking increasingly likely that David Pocock will join the exodus of Wallabies to France.

French publication Midi Olympique are reporting that Top 14 club Bordeaux have tabled an offer to Pocock in excess of €300,000 per season for the Aussie World Cup star. The outlet goes on to claim that Toulouse and Racing 92 are also interested in Australian number eight.

Pocock has 55 caps for the Wallabies, meaning he will soon qualify for the ‘Giteau Rule’, which was brought in earlier this year and allows players with 60+ caps to be selected from overseas clubs.

Pocock re-signed with the Brumbies on a one-year deal in August, which has left the door open for him to finish his career abroad at the end of a year, during which time he’s almost certain to play his 60th game for the Wallabies.

If Bordeaux was to snap up Pocock, he would join veteran Wallabies teammate Adam Ashley-Cooper at the club.
