The last time we saw Dan Carter on a rugby pitch, he was slotting over a final World Cup conversion with his weaker foot.
On Saturday, Carter will be unveiled to Racing 92 supporters before their Top 14 encounter with Toulouse.
His career as rugby’s first €1m-a-year man will officially begin on December 1.
The league clash was originally set for Stade de France. However, the November 13 terrorist attacks on Paris have seen it relocated to the smaller Stade Yves-Du-Manoir.
Stade de France was subject to a plot by suicide bombers to cause multiple casualties during a match between France and Germany’s football teams.
One suicide bomber would, reportedly, detonate his device after gaining access to the ground with two other individuals detonating their devices as crowds were evacuated from the ground.
A vigilant security guard prevented that scenario but all three bombers still detonated their devices, dying instantly. One innocent bystander lost their life after the first explosion, outside the ground.
Racing 92, who have Ronan O’Gara as defence coach, had their Champions Cup game with Glasgow Warriors postponed on November 14, the day after the attacks. They lined out against Llanelli Scarlets in the competition last weekend and won 29-12.

The Toulouse clash will be the club’s first league game since the attacks.
Carter has signed a two-year deal with the Parisian club and will become the world’s highest paid rugby player upon arrival. The All Blacks outhalf won World Rugby Player of the Year after helping his side to the Webb Ellis trophy.
Racing coach Laurent Travers said, “Dan Carter is not going to change everything; this is wrong.
“In football, a team can be successful with only two or three individuals who shine. This is not the case in rugby. We are dependent on each other.”
