Connacht’s new home jersey has split opinion in our office

Fit for champions... some say

If you like hoops, you’ll love Connacht’s 2016/17 home jersey.

Connacht Rugby and BLK have jointly released the Guinness PRO12 champions’ kit for the upcoming season and it should* go down a treat.

The province have gone with a subtle hoop design – green and a darker shade – with navy accents.

The jersey is heavy on the sponsors – similar to Top 14 jerseys – covering four separate areas at the front.

It’s often hard to tell what the jersey look like without being modelled by muscular rugby players. But…

The westerners are set to unveil a Champions Cup jersey in the coming seasons.

*There are a couple of dissenting voices in the SportsJOE office, this morning. While one of our team has described it as “brilliant”, it has also been likened to a Celtic away jersey from the 90s and ‘a garage door’.
