Connacht’s good form continues.
The province went top of the Guinness PRO12 table tonight with a 33-19 victory over Treviso at the Sportsground. Robbie Henshaw, Tom McCarthy and Matt Healy ran in a tries, as Craig Ronaldson kicked 18 points.
The home side were made work for their victory, as the Italian side denied Connacht a bonus point. However, Pat Lahm’s side recorded their fifth win in a row, their best form for over 13 years, and will now turn their attention to the Challenge Cup tie against Enisei-STM in Serbia next week.
At the RDS, Mike Ross’ second professional try earned Leinster victory over Scarlets, a defeat that saw Connacht take top spot. The Welsh side’s unbeaten start to the season ended as the Irish province ran out winners 19-15.
Leinster fans will be buoyed by Jonny Sexton playing the final 30 minutes, but will have some concern over the injury of Rob Kearney. The full-back appeared to tweak his hamstring mid way through the first half, and coach Leo Cullen said post-game Kearney’s injury will be assessed over the weekend.

Leinster fans will be hoping the player will be available for next week’s visit of Wasps in the Challenge Cup.
