The game was held up for almost 10 minutes after the incident.
Munster flanker Jack O’Donoghue will be brought for medical checks after a flying shoulder knocked him out during his side’s Guinness PRO12 match against Edinburgh at Thomond Park.
The 22-year-old, who has enjoyed a positive start to the season, was at a ruck in his own half when Fraser McKenzie charged in, intent on clearing him out.
It is doubtful that McKenzie, who was sin-binned for the incident, meant to harm the former Ireland U20 captain but his actions were reckless.
Another big back rower gone for Munster now in Jack O'Donoghue. Very reckless tackle should have been red #MUNEDI #PRO12

Munster technical coach Felix Jones was asked about the flash-point by Sky Sports. He replied:
“I don’t know, to be honest,” he said. “Jack, hopefully will be alright. I’m waiting on word on that.”
Medics and Munster staff attended O’Donoghue for several minutes before he was stetchered off on a motorised cart.
We will bring you news on O’Donoghue when we have it.
