“It was only the training kit!” – Cliodhna Moloney stung with England gear question

"Oh God! Stop the show, I'm outta here!"

Cliodhna Moloney was prepared for just about any question the House of Rugby hosts, or listeners, could throw her way. In the end, it was her own partner that stitched her up. The Wasps and Ireland star is enjoying another decent season in the Premier 15s and hoping that being out of Greg McWilliams' squad for the Six Nations does not stretch much further than a short stint on the outside, looking in. During Moloney's House of Rugby appearance, this week, Lindsay Peat, her former Ireland roommate and teammate, pitched to a question they had received from her partner, Wasps and England scrumhalf Claudia MacDonald. The question was:

"Is it true that there's a photo of you floating around in full England training kit?"

"Please say 'No'," exclaimed Greg O'Shea. "It's ridiculous." Moloney, the 2020 Ireland Women's Player of the Year, said she does not have it, but she admitted to the existence of such a photo. After O'Shea and Peat threatened a walk-out, co-host Jason Hennessy got Moloney to explain just how one of Ireland's best players was left wearing the full England training kit.

"I ended up going out with the England girls after a game they had played in Doncaster. I was up there watching it, and it was their last game, so we ended up going out because Claudia is my partner and she was playing. "So I ended up booking a room in the team hotel, where they were staying in Doncaster. I woke up in the morning and I didn't have anything to wear."

"I don't care, Cliodhna," Peat cut in. "You could have gone around in your birthday suit! You're Irish!"
