No prizes for coming first on this front lads
Philippe Saint-André has loaded his 31-man France squad with a host of Clermont and Toulon players ahead of the 2015 Six Nations.
10 players from the squad are from the two sides that have consistently challenged for European Cups in recent years. An interesting inclusion is Clermont’s giant Fijian winger, Nao Nakaitaici. Toulouse and Johnny Sexton’s Racing Métro both have four players included.
Somewhat surprisingly, Top 14 leaders Stade Francais have just two men – Rabah Slimani and Alexandre Flanquart – in the extended squad.
Bayonne’s Scott Spedding, who scored a try on his French debut, against Fiji, is named in a 14-man backs division along with fellow South Africa native Rory Kockott. There is no place for Castres winger Remy Grosso.
Toulouse captain Thierry Dusatoir will lead France during the tournament. They have not won a Six Nations title since 2010.
Ireland are set to announce their extended Six Nations and Wolfhounds squad next Wednesday.
