A handy back row weapon to have

Bent, Strauss, Ah You, Payne… Stander?

Munster back-row CJ Stander has expressed his wishes, in the past, to one day play for Ireland so the world is still on its axis.

However, following his capture of the Munster Player of the Year award, the South African came back under the sporting radar in his native country.

Interview requests for the 25-year-old pinged into the Munster media inbox this week as South African journalists and broadcasters sought a word with Stander.

From this interview clip, Irish rugby fans could certainly not accuse Stander of sitting on the fence.

The former South Africa Under-20 captain arrived in Munster on October 30, 2012.

It means that he will not become eligible to play for Ireland – after a three year residency – on October 30, 2015… a day before the World Cup final at Twickenham.
