Cancel those flights to Chicago because Ireland vs. New Zealand will be on your television

Wonders, they rarely cease ceasing

Patrick McCarry

No need to haul ass to Soldier Field, Chicago to watch Ireland in their latest bid to surmount bitter history.

Not content with bagging the exclusive Irish TV rights for the 2019 World Cup, eir Sport will be broadcasting Ireland’s November 5 Test match against world champions New Zealand.

The broadcaster has confirmed kick-off for the game will be 8pm [Irish time].

Ireland have a 0-1-27 record against the All Blacks that painfully stretches back to 1905. Twice in recent years, Ireland have put it up to the Kiwis only to lose in heart-breaking fashion through late scores [Dan Carter drop goal in 2012 and Ryan Crotty converted try in 2013].

eir Sport have also announced it will be showing the Test between the Maori All Blacks and the USA on November 4 and an exhibition match between Munster and the Maori All Blacks at Thomond Park on Friday, November 11.

Ireland’s return fixture against the All Blacks will be aired by RTE on November 19.
