Bryan Habana and Carlin Isles should be banned from Sevens for being simply too good

Unfair really

Patrick McCarry

There is another major sporting event going on in Las Vegas this weekend.

Away from all of the UFC 196 antics, the world’s best Sevens players are in Sin City for the next leg of the HSBC World Series.

Usually a colourful rip-roarer for all involved, this year’s staging has some added stardust. The likes of Bryan Habana, Quade Cooper and Sonny Bill Williams are all involved as they press claims for a spot at the Rio Olympics.

After Day One in Las Vegas, the Kiwis and South Africans are looking good while there were shock defeats for Fiji and England.

Two of the best tries of the day were all about pure, unadulterated pace as kicks over and behind pressing defensive lines resulted in sensational, blistering tries for Habana and United States’ star Carlin Isles.

Check out all the action from Day One and soak up the bombastic commentary while you are at it.
