Ireland have received a massive blow ahead of their Six Nations opener against Scotland in just under three weeks.
Leinster Rugby have confirmed that Sean Cronin has suffered a grade 2 hamstring tear which will put him out of action for 10 weeks.
As a result he will miss out on Ireland’s entire Six Nations campaign.
Cronin suffered the injury in Leinster’s demolition job of Zebre in the PRO12 over a week ago.
This is a huge blow for Leinster and Ireland as the Limerick born hooker has been in great form.
It will be interesting to see who will now take the place as deputy to Rory Best in Ireland’s opener against Scotland in Murrayfield.
