Paddy Jackson has released a statement.
The Ireland and Ulster rugby star was acquitted of rape last week.
In a statement released on Friday morning, the 26-year-old told the Press Association of his shame at the events of the night in question.
He also apologised for his use of offensive language in WhatsApp messages.
