Ulster player awarded prize for role in Six Nations triumph
He might be absent for the November internationals but Andrew Trimble’s importance to Ireland hasn’t been forgotten as he picked up the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Player of the Year title.
The Ulster man who’s currently sidelined with a toe injury, started all of Ireland’s Six nations games in the Spring  and played a crucial role in helping us claim the championship.
Niamh Briggs took home the women’s prize for the second year in a row.
