A fight that would get people talking.
WWE star Sheamus has claimed he would ‘absolutely’ take down Conor McGregor if the pair ever came to blows.
The pair have been involved in a number of spats on social media in the past year but the Celtic Warrior insists that while they would never be allowed to fight due to the huge size difference, there would be no doubt who would emerge victorious.
“Would I take Conor McGregor? No, he’s a lot shorter than me. I don’t think we’d be allowed fight — a heavyweight and a lightweight,” Sheamus said.
“Would I take him (if I had to)? Absolutely. Course I would. No one could take me. No one’s better than me. I could walk over anyone.”
The interview is part of a new documentary series which kicks off tonight with a look behind the scenes at the Sheamus’s WWE career.
Angela Scanlon’s Close Encounters begins on RTÉ 2 at 10pm this evening and the first episode delves into the complicated world of professional wrestling, finding Sheamus exploring his darker side after a recent ‘heel turn’ and in the midst of a feud with popular star Randy Orton.
