Will Fleury was in the room when his opponent took to the scales.
Fleury was taking his first gulp of coconut water when Shaun Taylor appeared with a towel around his waist and stumbled on to the scales.
“190.4lbs,” the Bellator official announced, sending the middleweight bout into jeopardy.
Taylor made his way to Fleury to apologise for missing the 186lbs target so badly but Fleury was having none of it initially, questioning how seriously the Scot took his weight cut.
“Did you even try to make weight?” Fleury asked.
The pair then left the room to hammer out negotiations to get a deal agreed to get the fight over the line and before Bellator PR confirmed anything, Fleury was back in to let us know that he fully intended to fight on Saturday night, on the preliminary card of Bellator 217.

The Tipperary man, who just moments earlier made weight at 185.4lbs, revealed that Taylor would be fined 20 per cent of his fight purse.
That was the worst weight miss of the card, with the main card’s eight fighters all coming in on point.
SBG’s James Gallagher was one of the first to the scales and made 136lbs with ease while the grudge match – branded the biggest Irish MMA fight in history by John Kavanagh – is official as Peter Queally and Myles Price weighed in at 155.4lbs.
