WATCH: The profanity-filled footage of Jon Jones’ latest skirmish with police has emerged

The story he wanted to beat out

So this is what Jon Jones was talking about.

In a noticeably open interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Jones was quick to bring up an incident he had with a police officer in Albuquerque following an accusation of drag racing.

‘Bones’ made it clear that he wanted to break the story before media outlets got the chance to do so. And he did.

But only just!

Mere minutes after the interview, a video appeared on TMZ Sports which shows the former UFC light heavyweight champion embroiled in a heated exchange with an officer.

Below is a transcription of the most fiery parts of the back-and-forth and it doesn’t exactly make for pleasant reading for Jones, who had been involved in multiple brushes with the law over the past 12 months.

Jones: “Calling my lawyer, to ask him about this paper work. I’m sure I have the right to do that, buddy … fucking liar. I can’t believe you.”

Cop: “Well believe it because I’m not joking.”

Jones: “For no reason. Fucking with me for no reason. What’s your name?”

Cop: “Officer Brown. It’s on your ticket, sir.”

Jones: “I can’t fucking believe you. You’re ridiculous.”

Cop: “Just doing my job.”

Jones: “No, you’re not just doing your job. You’re fucking picking this Corvette out for no reason. Blaming me for all this shit that you know isn’t true.”

Jones: “You’re ridiculous … I used to really respect … fuckers like you.”

Cop: “You’d rather I just turn my head and let you be a nuisance to the citizens?”

Jones: “I am not a nuisance to the citizens.”

Cop: “I have sworn to protect the citizens from people like you, Mr. Jones. Please don’t dig around in your car.”

Jones: “I was looking for a pen. Give me the fucking shit. Can’t believe you. Ridiculous.”

Cop: “Well believe it. Because it’s the truth, sir.”

Jones: “Ridiculous. You’re a fucking liar. Good luck trying to prove that I was speeding because you know that I wasn’t.”
