Tap or nap?
Glover Teixeira forced Ovince Saint Preux into the latter category as he moved closer to another shot at light heavyweight gold.
Many had written Teixeira off as “past it” after the 35-year-old lost two consecutive fights for the first time in his career when Jon Jones and Phil Davis outbattled him to unanimous decisions in 2014.
But the Brazilian showed that there’s a lot of fight left in him as he slapped on a textbook rear naked choke in the third round of last night’s UFC Nashville main event.
OSP failed to defend the choke and went to sleep before he could tap as John McCarthy jumped in to call the fight.
Thank God Steve Mazzagatti wasn’t in charge or this could have gone a lot worse.
