Bryan Caraway could be in for a night to remember.
Miesha Tate choked Holly Holm out of consciousness, last night, to claim the UFC women’s bantamweight strap.
The Washington, Seattle native went into round five or her world title fight well aware of the situation she faced. She took the second round 10-8 but Holm had edged the other three.
Tate needed to finish the fight and that is exactly what she did.
It looks as though Tate may be facing former champion Ronda Rousey next but, ahead of any official confirmation, she was asked about future opponents. She said, “The right move [after the fight] feels like drinking a Budweiser and eating cupcakes.”
Asked to describe her emotions upon clinching the title, Tate name-checked her boyfriend Bryan Caraway and replied with a fresh twist on Conor McGregor’s ‘break out the red panties baby’ remark.
“It’s really hard to put into words but I did tell Bryan that it would be a red boxer-brief night.”
Standing nearby, Caraway, who also trains Tate, went bright red.
