Michael Bisping is the new UFC middleweight champion.
The Count brutally knocked out Luke Rockhold in the first round of UFC 199’s main event to become the first ever British UFC champion.
After a tentative start, Bisping caught Rockhold with a ferocious left hook from the clinch sending him crashing down to the canvas. The Brit followed him down to the mat and cracked a couple of more right hands to his opponent’s dome before the referee dragged him off and awarded him the knockout victory.
After securing the win, Bisping took his mouthpiece out, and spoke straight into the camera, “This was the easiest fight of my life.”
After a decade in the UFC and coming so close, yet so far to a title shot but always falling at the crucial final hurdle, Bisping seized his opportunity to become champion the first chance he got.
