That was quick.
The fourth quickest submission in UFC lightweight history, to be precise.
Donegal’s Joe Duffy needed just 25 seconds to get back in the win column as he made short work of submission specialist Mitch Clarke in Las Vegas on Thursday night.
Duffy came out looking sharp and sneaked a crisp right hand to Clarke’s jaw in the opening moments which sent the Canadian face-planting into the mat.
Don’t blink! @Duffy_MMA gets the job done with the 4th fastest submission win in UFC lightweight history.? #UFCVegas https://t.co/Gcj3PcS1M0

Duffy, who told us prior to the bout that he anticipated a war against Clarke, sustained no damage as he took his opponent’s back and sunk in a rear naked choke that drew the tap before the clock hit 30 seconds.
What’s next for Irish Joe? He told Jon Anik that he’s waiting on one of two options to present themselves.
He said: “I’m hoping that they’re either going to announce an Irish card or Madison Square Garden would be pretty sweet as well, with all the Irish there. I’d love to fight there.”
