Jake Matthews and Johnny Case are a credit to the UFC.
The rising lightweights blessed the Brisbane crowd with a great fight on UFC Fight Night 85’s main card with hometown hero Matthews taking a late submission win.
Mathews cracked his opponent with a knee to the body in the third round and the two locked up along the fence. The Aussie took Case’s back and eventually forced the tap with a rear-naked choke on the second attempt ending his opponent’s 12-fight win streak.

After the fight had ended, the two fighters remained in the cage for the obligatory result announcement. The pair showed there was no bad blood between them as they showed respect for each other for the great fight as the broadcast went to an ad break.
Case thanked Matthews for a great fight, told him how much his body kicks hurt and explained how he was going to grab a shower and drink some red bulls to recover. Check out the great moment of mutual respect below.
