The fifteen minute war between Joe Duffy and Dustin Poirier in January did nothing to affect the respect between the pair of lightweights.
Scheduled to headline last October’s UFC event in Dublin’s 3Arena, their clash was eventually rescheduled for the Fight Pass prelims of UFC 195 at the start of 2016.

Poirier took a unanimous decision victory over the Donegal man but both fighters thoroughly enjoyed the bloody experience, smiling and talking to one another throughout the fight.
And the mutual respect between Duffy and Poirier was on full display following Duffy’s incredible 25-second submission victory over Mitch Clarke on Thursday night.

As ‘Irish Joe’ made his way from the Octagon to backstage, Poirier called out to him and embraced his former opponent before he shook hands with his cornermen.
Nothing but class.
