Fantasy MMA time for the UFC president.
Dana White allowed himself to dream, last night, as he discussed potential match-ups for July’s bumper UFC 200 event.
Uncle Dana was speaking with Michael Lansberg on his On the Record show and stated that UFC 200 – set for the 20,000-seat Las Vegas Arena – would feature some of the promotions top names.
He name-checked Conor McGregor, Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones and the unlikely return of Ronda Rousey. White commented:
“Obviously, to have the biggest of shows, you’d want the Rondas, the Conors, the GSPs, the Jon Jones.
“You’d want to stack the card with all available talents.”
Asked about St-Pierre returning, White said a fight with welterweight champion Robbie Lawler would be “huge” and Anderson Silva would be “fun”.
As for Jones, White was open to the possibility of the UFC’s pound-for-pound best fighter stepping up to fight for the heavyweight belt.
“Sure,” said White. “Not only does he have the size for the heavyweight division, he has the talent.”
