Conor McGregor has made it very obvious that he wants to reclaim that submission loss.
No, he has no interest in do-overs against Artemij Sitenkov or Joseph Duffy, both of whom he tapped out against in the first round in bouts before he entered the UFC. The Notorious has his sights set on getting back that loss to Nate Diaz in UFC 196’s main event.

McGregor had his welterweight do-over against the Stockton native booked for the UFC 200. However, his refusal to appear at the Las Vegas press conference to promote the event cost him his spot on the landmark card. His questionable use of social media of late probably didn’t help matters either.
First he announced his retirement on Twitter, then Dana White announced his removal from UFC 200, then the featherweight champion tweeted that he would not be retiring and he would be returning to the July 9 event, which the UFC have confirmed time and time wasn’t true.
Happy to announce that I am BACK on UFC 200!
Shout out to @danawhite and @lorenzofertitta on getting this one done for the fans. #Respect— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 25, 2016
Despite many calling for McGregor to drop back down to 145 and defend his title against the winner of Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar, who’ll slug it out for the interim strap at UFC 200, the Dubliner is sticking to his guns. He has made it clear that he only has eyes for a Diaz duel next.
McGregor posted a highlights video of their first clash to his Facebook on Sunday with the following accompanying text.
“Nobody gives a fuck about these other fights until this one is settled.
Cut the bullshit. Run it back. #RealFight”
