Self defence from a distance.
Many would have predicted the final UFC 202 press conference kicking off but few would have guessed the manner of how it all went down.
The press briefing started without a tardy McGregor and rattled along nicely until, 20 minutes in, The Notorious entered the building. Nate Diaz, his opponent, hung about for a couple of McGregor answers then had enough. Up he got and off he strolled, entourage in tow.
Then, some bright spark decided to launch a bottle in McGregor’s direction. Red rag to a bull. McGregor was up in a flash, flinging bottles of H2O towards the Diaz camp near the exit doors.

That melee quickly ended the presser as McGregor was bundled off the stage. On UFC Tonight, McGregor offered a new reason for the flare-up:
“I seen people panicking up in the stands. I thought it was a case of dehydration so I was simply launching up some hydration. We’re out in the desert, it’s intense… I don’t know what happened. I just defended myself and that’s it.”
