Brock Lesnar brought the eyes to UFC 200, Amanda Nunes brought the fight.

It may not have been the promotion’s first choice headliner for their biggest ever card, but the women’s bantamweight title fight between Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes proved to be more than worthy of the main event slot at UFC 200.

The fight was pushed up to top of the bill after Jon Jones’ pre-fight drug test failure saw him scrapped from the card, with light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier getting matched up against Anderson Silva in a three-round non-title fight further down the main card.

Nunes (13-4) made a real statement to the rest of the 135-pound division, by scoring a first-round submission over Miesha Tate to claim that coveted golden strap.

The Brazilian was dominant in the striking exchanges and caused a geyser of blood to stream from Tate’s face with her knees up top and that stiff jab. She dropped Cupcake with another knee to the dome, where she quickly pounced and forced the tap with a rear-naked choke, the same submission Tate used to dethrone Holly Holm at UFC 196.
