The only negative to take away from Conor McGregor’s victory is that he didn’t manage to seal it in his predicted two minutes.
But other than that, everything turned out spectacularly for “The Notorious”.
McGregor coasted through the first round in which he left Dennis Siver a bloody mess but the Irishman needed just two minutes of the second round to finish off his opponent.
After continuing to dominate on the feet, McGregor landed a straight left which was the beginning of the end for the Mannheim fighter.
The Dubliner (17-2) found himself in mount and proceeded to ground and pound his way to a referee’s stoppage. Adrenaline flowing, McGregor then leapt over the wall of the octagon to confront featherweight champion Jose Aldo, the man against whom he’ll fight in the summer.
Aldo was expected to face off with “The Notorious” in the octagon afterwards but that unusually failed to come to pass but the Boston fans were more than happy with McGregor to entertain them.
