TJ Dillashaw delivered a flawless display to confirm his dominance of Renan Barao and his claim on the UFC bantamweight title
The American was well on top of the former champion for the first three rounds of their bout in Chicago last night and put away the game Brazilian challenger with a barrage of punches early in the fourth.
“I’m really proud of my performance,” Dillashaw said after the fight. “I got hit a little more than I wanted to, but it’s because Barao’s a killer, man.”
With a pair of victories over Barao, the 29-year-old has now turned his attention to former champion Dominick Cruz, who was stripped of the title due to long-standing injury problems, but has not been beaten since 2008.
“That’s the biggest fight,” Dillashaw added. “That’s what’s going to make my name the biggest at this weight class, fighting Cruz as soon as he’s able to come back.”
