Carla Esparza is the first UFC women's strawweight champion
Esparza made UFC history at the TUF 20 finale tonight and solidified her position as the greatest 115 lb fighter in the world. The Cookie Monster lived up to her reputation as the top-ranked strawweight heading into The Ultimate Fighter house by claiming ithe division's first championship in the UFC.
She outwrestled her opponent Rose Namajunas throughout the bout and, after pummelling her with vicious ground and pound for two rounds, she took her back and sank in a rear naked choke forcing the tap at 1:26 in the third. Check out the belt-winning submission below.
