Doctors right to step in
Carlos Condit wasted little time in inserting himself right back into the UFC welterweight elite thanks to a vicious beating of Thiago Alves in Brazil overnight.
Coming off a 14-month lay-off following surgery to repair a torn ACL, Condit, now ranked four in the division, was relentless once the opportunity arose to punish Alves, landing savage flurries of elbows and uppercuts to leave his opponent covered in blood.
Doctors confirmed the Brazilian’s nose had been broken and stopped the fight before the start of the third round.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland’s Norman Parke was also on the card in Goiania but came out on the wrong side of a split decision against Francisco Trinaldo.
