Jason Byrne had his work cut out for him.
The comedian was tasked by the UFC to try and get some of the Irish, and non-Irish fighters, well used to some of the local language they might be hearing around Dublin this week ahead of the big event on Saturday: UFC Fight Night 76.
The card contains a number of Irishmen on the bill but Joseph Duffy, who was forced to withdraw from the event due to injury, looks perplexed as to what a ‘skin and blister’ might be, while his scheduled opponent Dustin Poirier does at least know what a ‘straightener’ is. And we don’t mean of the hair kind either.
Of course Paddy Holohan passes with flying colours as he correctly identifies pretty much every phrase lobbed his way by funnyman Byrne, but Bubba Bush and others could be very confused by the locals if they take a trip around our capital city this week.
Check it out! Comedian @thejasonbyrne teaches UFC fighters a few words of the local lingo ahead of #UFCDublin! 😂 🍀https://t.co/0KIpO4Vnz1
