We don’t envy the guy who has to keep coming up with original spins on The Ultimate Fighter concept.
But he’s pretty much nailed it with this idea for the upcoming series.
The 21st incarnation of the reality show which pits promising professional mixed martial artists against one another with a UFC contract up for grabs looks an absolute doozy.
TUF 21 will pit two legendary mixed martial arts gyms against each other in a twist from the normal format which saw two UFC fighters take on the role of coaches to split the cast into two teams.
But this time we will see the best up-and-coming fighters from American Top Team and The Blackzilians fight it out to see which has the best athletes, plus the added incentive of $500,000.
For the first time the tournament will take place outside of Vegas, with both sets of fighters holed up together in the same house in Florida, where both academies are based.
Tension looks to be a certainty going by the trailer as the owners of both gyms, ATT’s Dan Lambert and Blackzilians’ Glenn Robinson, are fierce rivals.
The series premieres on April 22nd and we, for one, can’t flippin wait.
