As kids, the prospect of a Power Ranger fighting a WWE (WWF in our day) superstar, would have excited us to the point of frenzy.
So there was a tiny piece of us hoping that the UFC would listen to the suggestions from Jason David Frank (the green Ranger) that he would be the ideal opponent for CM Punk’s first foray into mixed martial arts.
Trying to distance themselves from the gimmicky nature of that potential fight, the promotion essentially ignored all that talk and it’s since died down.
But the actor turned fighter isn’t going down quietly. Frank has put together a video documenting his theory that Punk (real name Phil Brooks) is dodging the fight and that he’s lied about not knowing who Frank is.
Frank undeniably has more mixed martial arts experience than Brooks and is just one of many who are perturbed by the fact that Brooks’ first fight is coming on a stage as large as the UFC.
We say make the bloody fight. Just make sure any Megazords are disclosed to the athletic commission.
