Take all the belts, take all the money then ride back to beautiful Dublin, Ireland into the sunset.
That’s the ultimate goal according to Conor McGregor in the new documentary produced by Sports Illustrated.
Unfiltered is a short film which follows the UFC featherweight champion as he prepares for UFC 196 in his hometown of Dublin. The stylised documentary features interviews from UFC president Dana White, SBG head coach John Kavanagh as well as the Notorious himself.
There are some nice tidbits on how White ended up signing McGregor as well as Kavanagh giving some background information on the flag McGregor has brought inside the Octagon with him for every one of his UFC fights. However, it’s the Notorious who takes centre stage in this film.
Perhaps what’s most prevalent is McGregor’s love of Dulbin. The cameras follow him around the city as he takes time out of his errands to pose for photos and sign autographs for well-wishers and fans. It’s clear that he has an appreciation for his supporters and a deep connection to his hometown.
“I fucking love this place. I’ll never leave this place ever in my life. This is my home. I go to the US for that sweet cheque and then I high-tail it back here to be with my own people.”
