Conor McGregor is going to get his crack at the UFC featherweight belt on July 11. The Notorious will face undisputed king of the 145 lb division Jose Aldo in the main event at UFC 189 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas.
Jose Aldo has proven to be invincible at 145 lbs so far in his career, having never lost a professional bout at featherweight. The sole blemish on his record came in the form of a lightweight bout, and since the loss he has racked up 17-straight victories.
However, McGregor has a displayed a penchant for recording highlight reel knockouts inside the Octagon and has as good a chance as any at usurping King Aldo’s throne to become the first ever European champion in the UFC.
