How far women’s mixed martial arts has come…

It’s hard to believe that Dana White once proclaimed that women would never fight in the UFC considering that the biggest superstar in the promotion in 2015 is of the fairer sex.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is undeniably the biggest name in MMA right now. The former Olympian is on course to headline the biggest event in UFC history when the promotion heads to Melbourne on 15th November.

The Etihad Stadium’s official capacity is 56,347 which means UFC 193 could potentially overtake UFC 129 as the biggest attendance in UFC history.

It is therefore, unsurprising that Rousey made the claim on the Ellen DeGeneris show that she is the highest paid fighter in the UFC.

Although her disclosed purses might be a tad lower than the likes of Anthony Johnson and Conor McGregor, it is conceivable that her endorsements and the money she earns based on PPV points makes her the highest earner in the promotion.
