Conor McGregor declared, after his UFC 189 win over Chad Mendes, that he and Ronda Rousey were the two biggest stars in the MMA game.
The Irishman has only recently joined Rousey as a UFC champion but she has dominated the women’s bantamweight for the past three years.
The respect is certainly mutual. Rousey was effusive in her praise about McGregor, on Saturday, as she shared her views on the sport at a press briefing for UFC 190.
‘It has been a real joy watching him progress and mature, not just as a fighter but as a man.’
The 28-year-old also gave her take on Jose Aldo’s rib injury and prospective opponent Cris Cyborg.
