The career of one of the most popular fighters in UFC history could be over.
After testing positive tested positive for marijuana metabolites in his post-fight drug test following his loss to Anderson Silva in January, Nick Diaz was handed a five-year ban by the NSAC at his hearing on Monday evening. This marked the third time he tested positive for the substance in his career.
Diaz was also fined 33% of his $500,000 fight purse for the main event at UFC 183 which amounts to $166,667.
The 32-year-old will be unable to compete until he’s 36 under the ban, which means that his fighting career may be over.
