Take note, Jose Aldo.
Featherweight champion Jose Aldo was left red-faced at the UFC 189 World Tour fan Q&A in Dublin, when Conor McGregor decided to nab his belt and hold it aloft to the baying crowd.
However, Bas Rutten has demonstrated that McGregor’s belt-stealing antics could have easily been avoided with the proper technique. The former UFC heavyweight showed Daniel Cormier and Kenny Florian how to properly counter a McGregor belt steal on the show The Buzzer.
Perhaps the highlight of this video is when Cormier tries to make a joke while helping Florian back to his feet.
His gag using Rutten’s nickname “El Guapo” went down like a lead balloon in the studio and a look of regret almost instantly washed over him.
Meanwhile, the other two hosts proceeded to pretend that Cormier didn’t exist, with Rutten even turning his back toward the light heavyweight champ.
