Eddie Alvarez says he doesn’t like to talk smack…
Rafael Dos Anjos has several fight options once he returns from the foot be broke a fortnight before UFC 196.
Nate Diaz could be zoomed up to take on RDA for a second time or there could be a title bout against Eddie Alvarez, or the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson at UFC 197.
One man Dos Anjos will not be facing for a while is Conor McGregor.
The Dubliner looks set to lick his wounds in the featherweight division he successfully vowed to dominate when he first arrived in the UFC. He may then step up to lightweight and seek to hold two belts at once.
Alvarez is a likely contender, down the road, and McGregor will have taken note on the No.1 lightweight contender’s words on his loss to Nate Diaz. Alvarez told Fight Hype:
“It’s MMA, man, you never know what’s going to happen.
“Everybody has their predictions, they do their MMA math but they neglect the intangibles. A guy like Diaz, has them intangibles. He has heart, he fights hard and you can never ignore that.
“… Conor couldn’t deal with a guy – after hitting him as hard as he did – that was still on his feet and he lost it. Honestly, he kind of quit on himself.”
