I wonder if Artemij Sitenkov gets the same treatment?
If you didn’t know already, Irish UFC star and UFC Dublin headliner Joseph Duffy has a win over his compatriot and current interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor.
Back in 2010, the Donegal man submitted the Notorious with a first-round arm-triangle choke in the European MMA promotion Cage Warriors.
Since the Duffy loss, McGregor has clocked up 14-straight wins and reached stardom on MMA’s biggest stage. Duffy, on the other hand, had a brief spell as a professional boxer before singing for the UFC in 2014.
However, since returning to MMA (and even before that) that victory over McGregor has been perpetually brought up in interviews. Check out the great compilation below that shows just how much “the McGregor slayer” tag has followed Duffy around.
When you're @duffy_mma and you've beaten a fellow Irishman & a certain UFC superstar…https://t.co/WXewKC5kzB
