A Conor McGregor title fight might be coming sooner than we thought.
Dana White dropped a massive hint over who would get the next crack at Jose Aldo’s belt recently when he called Conor McGregor the logical number one contender. However, some doubts were raised over whether the Notorious was next in line after Frankie Edgar’s dominant victory over the then #2 in the division, Cub Swanson. Edgar was bumped up to #2 after the win.
The argument against Edgar fighting for the belt next is that he has not only already been beaten by Aldo but, he has lost three title fights in the UFC since 2012. Whereas, if McGregor was the next fighter to get the nod, it would mark his first ever UFC title shot.
It seems that Edgar also believes that the promotion’s matchmakers will give the Irish MMA superstar a title fight before they give one to him. Check out the New Jersey native’s comments that have unfairly raised all of our expectations in the video below.
