VIDEO: Dana White throws ‘Stitch’ Duran under the bus over Reebok comments

So much for friends

It’s not the same without him

It’s almost a week now since the UFC decided that they had to get rid of a legend of the sport and all because he wasn’t happy with one of their new commercial deals.

It seems that Jacob “Stitch” Duran received his marching orders for speaking out against the Reebok deal with plenty of fighters showing their support for him.

Last night’s action in Chicago was the first without his involvement and he was a noticeable absence.

Duran was annoyed at not having gotten a call from White to let him know his services were no longer required and the head of the UFC responded last night.

After the blood and sweat was cleared from the Octagon, White was asked about the former ‘cutman’ and denied the two were ever friends and that he doesn’t deal with the men who keep fighters coming out round after round from each corner.

“We weren’t friends.”

“We’re not friends and no, he shouldn’t have been expecting a call from me. And if he’s my friend, why didn’t he reach out to me?”

“If we were such good friends and all that. So that’s that.”

After 14 years it’s pretty sad to see a legend leave the sport seemingly for good now.
