The media tour doesn’t look like it’s the most difficult bit of work for Conor McGregor.
In the latest episode of the UFC 189 Embedded series, we see the pair of featherweight warriors enjoy the New York leg of their world tour.
The episode starts with champion Jose Aldo looking to get in some training in Vitor Shaolin’s BJJ gym on 8th Avenue where he claims that he wouldn’t be surprised if he and McGregor ended up “fighting before we get to Ireland.”
We then meet 145lb challenger Conor McGregor who is preparing to leave the Viceroy hotel for a photoshoot in which he reenacted the famous Muhammad Ali Sports Illustrated cover.
The pair come face to face once more at the Beacon Theatre where Conor reveals that he has respect for every competitor who steps foot in the cage but that he has been left unimpressed by Aldo’s recent proclivity for decision victories.
As they stand toe to toe, McGregor tells Aldo that he can “smell the fear” before they get on their respective private jets and head off to their next destination, Toronto.
